2009 GMC Canyon is a pickup with rear- or switchable all-wheel drive, being the luxury version of the platform-sharing Chevrolet Colorado. The premiere of the vehicle took place in 2003, and in 2004 its production began.

Externally, the GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado differ from each other only in the brand-specific design of the front part, namely the radiator grille, bumpers, and some other elements. In interior design, in turn, the differences are also not many, but the Canyon is trimmed with more expensive materials, the choice of which, as well as the choice of color schemes, is quite wide.

Technically, the 2009 GMC Canyon is a pickup built on the General Motors GMT 355 platform with an independent front suspension on A-arms and a solid rear axle with leaf springs. The wheelbase of the pickup is 3200 mm, and as for the overall dimensions, the length of the Canyon is 5260 mm, the width is 1727 mm, and the height is 1651 mm.
