The 2.9-liter inline-four produces 185 hp and 258 Nm of torque, the 3.7-liter inline-five offers 242 hp and 328 Nm, and the 5.3-liter V8 delivers 300 hp and 434 Nm. The engines can work with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic.

The GMC Canyon is produced at General Motors plants in the USA, Thailand, and Brazil. Its twin brother is also known under the name Chevrolet Colorado.
