The 2021 GMC Canyon can be equipped with 20-inch wheels, metal underbody protection, an advanced exhaust system, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, heated steering wheel, Bose audio system, LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless charging. In the list of equipment responsible for safety, there is a wide-format rearview camera, rear parking sensors, a forward collision warning system, and a lane departure warning system.

In terms of powertrains, no changes occurred. The base engine is a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 with an output of 308 hp and 373 Nm of torque. Single-drive versions can be equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four with 200 hp and 260 Nm. An alternative to the gasoline engines is a 2.8-liter turbocharged Duramax diesel with 181 hp and 470 Nm of torque. The most powerful engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the inline engines are paired with a six-speed.

The pickup’s interior after the restyling also did not undergo changes. The same four-spoke steering wheel with buttons, the same analog instrument panel with a fancy hood, the same large armrest between the seats, and the “stick” shifter. In the basic configuration, the vehicle is equipped with a 7-inch multimedia system display recessed into the front panel (with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), but an 8-inch version with navigation can also be obtained.
