The GMC Yukon is a full-size three-row SUV that balances ruggedness with premium comfort. Often described as the “luxury brother” of the Chevrolet Tahoe and a more approachable alternative to the Cadillac Escalade, the Yukon is built for drivers who want size, power, and versatility.

You can choose between rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive (some trims are 4WD only), with three engines available:

1. 5.3-liter V8 with 335 hp
2. 6.2-liter V8 with 420 hp
3. 3.0-liter turbo-diesel for better efficiency and towing capability

Despite its size, the Yukon drives smoothly thanks to an independent suspension and available adaptive air ride suspension. Fuel consumption is high, but that comes with the territory for large V8 SUVs.

Inside, the Yukon feels premium with optional second-row executive seats, rear entertainment screens, a massive 16.8-inch central display, and an 11-inch digital driver cluster. Cargo space is generous: 25.5 cubic feet behind the third row, expanding to 122.8 cubic feet with seats folded. Towing capacity reaches up to 8,400 lbs (about 3,800 kg).

For even more room, the extended-wheelbase Yukon XL adds 15 inches, giving 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row.

The Yukon sticks to the classic big-SUV formula – space, power, and comfort – and it works. It’s pricier than the Tahoe but less flashy than the Escalade, making it a strong choice for families who want a capable and upscale SUV. The only drawback: frequent stops at the gas station.
