GMC Acadia 2012 is a large SUV with front-wheel or all-wheel drive, built on the GM Lambda platform. The world premiere of the model took place in the summer of 2006, and in December of the same year sales of the vehicle started in the USA.

The Acadia became the first crossover in the GMC lineup, however, despite belonging to a slightly more compact class than full-size SUVs, the vehicle still stands out with considerable dimensions, even though after the 2009 facelift they were slightly reduced. As a result, the length of the crossover is 5098 mm, the width is 1986 mm, the height is 1775 mm, and the wheelbase length is 3020 mm, which made it easy to place three rows of seats in the cabin for 7 or 8 passengers. The curb weight of the vehicle slightly exceeds two tons.

The Acadia is produced at a GMC plant in the U.S. state of Michigan.
